Finding smoker recipes in places you wouldn’t expect.
I always like it when I stumble across a delicious sounding smoker/BBQ recipe in what I would consider a place that I simply wouldn’t expect to see such a thing. Does anyone else feel this way?
Some of my favorite recipes have been ones I've converted from standard kitchen and oven sites. Anywhere they use smoked ingredients or liquid smoke, I use fresh ingredients and real smoke. At the end of the day, my MAK is just an oven with a grill top
I've seen good recipes on Cigar pages, Car pages, TV show pages, etc... lots of fun inspiration out there
I cook on a 15-year-old Kamado #9, a huge beast nearly 6 feet tall and with black ceramic tile on the outside.
I of course love smoked meats of all kinds, but also like quick cooks like chicken portions, pork tenderloins and fish. Really into cooking of all kinds. There is an outdoor fire pit that has grilling capability and limited Santa Maria-style grill raising and lowering.
Update: my Kamado has been rehomed. A new outdoor kitchen is being built. Main cooker is a Lone Star Grillz Adjustable and it is wonderful. There also is a Pit Boss 5 Burner Ultimate Griddle. Both currently live in my garage and get rolled outdoors to use.
I am a huge University of Michigan sports fan. A local site called MgoBlog used to have a series called MgoBBQ where before some of the football home games they'd post a recipe for some good tailgate Q. Their recipes are typically quite good.
