I’m just wondering why Richard Chrz isn’t sharing pics of one of his early cooks? 🧐 One in particular comes to mind.

well, looking for "first cooking picture" pulled up a couple other firsts, figured I'd share 'em

This is, as far as I can tell, the first picture I ever took of one of my cigars.

This is definitely Jordan's first fishing trip and first fish she caught entirely herself .... plus her brother photo bombing her. Not quite sure where Karyn is at

So you started smoking cigars when you were like 9? Wow that is original

Love that plate of food and the ribs look amazing.

LOL Troutman .... funny, but I actually smoked my first cigar at 12. True story, my grandfather thought he would get me sick with one and keep me from ever smoking. I liked it, smoked the whole thing and it's been downhill ever since.

As far as those ribs go, I had that COS (a CharGrill) dialed in pretty good for ribs and pork butt. Tended to overcook tri-tip on it and the couple briskets I did came out pretty badly.

First one I see in my photo roll, from 2014. I had a propane and electric smoker before this, but don't see any pics from cooking on either of those.

And I found the earliest picture I have of Karyn (she of "Cooking for a rodeo" fame) helping me BBQ. 10 years later she has her own kettle+sns and is turning out great Q all on her own

So these are my firsts, and just before joining here in 2019, (brisket flat, pork shoulder, ribs, and a piece of corned beef that I did in pastrami). Except the bread, that was my first loaf, in July of 2019.

I think these are the oldest pictures of cooks on the new PBC in August 2014. First ribs, and chickens and tri-tips(?). That PBC (R.I.P. 2021) looks pretty clean in those first smokes.

In the days of still getting used to my PBC and realizing that I need a better thermometer. I give you smoked undercooked chicken and ribs. I didn't happen to get a picture of the bucket of KFC we ended up eating for dinner that night. It was truly finger-licking good.

I actually like this. First, you're big enough to admit the mistake, second you share your learning curve (which is of value) and finally you've discovered a solution to your problem. Good work !!!

Not sure if this counts, I obviously don't remember... but I'm pretty sure there was a BBQ this day... and as such I was working on my entertaining skills while the grill did it's thing?
