Thanks, Mr. Bones. My girlfriend likes to bake and I bought her an ice cream attachment for her KitchenAid Mixer. So I'm thinking maybe I need to do a repeat with a pie made by her and baked in my kamado and then I could smoke some homemade ice cream too.

Threw a couple chickens on the rotisserie. One I actually injected with buffalo wing sauce the other I basred in butter and herbs. Figures that the one on the left the trussing burned and broke so I lost a bit of the skin on one of the legs

RonB it was the grill grate that it stuck to. I went to check on them and noticed the issue and yanked it out.

This was the first day of summer, up at fish camp in the "U.P." of Michigan, middle of nowhere. Rustic boat-in camp, nothing but dirt and water.

My buddy Randy, who used to own a diner and ran a large smoker for it and for catering, made us some burgers. I cook the breakfast and fry the fish, he's in charge of everything else.

Venison burgers cooked right over a cherry wood bonfire. Fresh mozarella topper. Smackie's BBQ sauce (a Michigan product). Torch seared to caramelize the sauce. Buns buttered and fire-toasted. (And some Bucsh's beans heated in the can). You want to talk about good eatin'...

Saturday I had family come visit, and some stayed. Not photoed is about 20 chicken thighs, 12 brats, then we did this 3 lb snapper, some rice and beans dish in my Paella pan, and Patacones in my cast on the grill. at one time I had something on two different 22 kettles, 1 14 kettle, and a 22 wsm set up as a warming oven. Fun weekend, we hung out on that patio for 10 hours or so, listened to music until midnight'ish and drank a cooler full of IPA's in the process. Hope you had a great weekend too.

Dry Brine'd chicken for the first time. Amazing difference. Cannot wait to do this with the Thanksgiving Turkey.
On the left is just Weber Herb Garlic seasoning, on the right is pepper and garlic and a bit of cayenne. My wife is very happy with my new hobby. I'm home and I am doing all the cooking. Click image for larger version

I never truss a bird on the rotisserie. For me, that keeps the leg/thigh too close to the body and slows cookin'. And I'm not trying to start another war - it's just my opinion.

RonB LOL. I don't have a lot of clearance in our gasser to not truss. As it was if you look at the chickens I did on post #3, you can see the leg on the left one came out of the trussing, and the skin stuck to the grill when it was turning and kind of mangled it.

Well I did a fair share of outdoor cooking the last few weeks. I have just a few snap shots. I made cast iron enchiladas one night and they were a huge hit. The view was not bad either!

I also made pork chops one night. Things got a little snowy and just kept on coming down. I ended up getting stuck up near the Bear Tooth Pass for a couple of nights. We had plenty of good food though!

The Good-One Is A Superb Grill And A Superb Smoker All In One

the good one grill

The Good-One Open Range is a charcoal grill with an offset smoke chamber attached. It is dramatically different from a traditional offset smoker. The grill sits low in front and doubles as a firebox for the smoke chamber which is spliced on above and behind so it can work like a horizontal offset smoker only better. By placing the heat source behind and under the smokebox instead of off to the side, Open Range produces even temperature from left to right, something almost impossible to achieve with a standard barrel shaped offset.

Pit Barrel Cooker Smoker

Griddle And Deep Fryer All In One

The flat top does the burgers and the fryer does the fries. Use the griddle for bacon, eggs, and home fries. Or pancakes, fajitas, grilled cheese, you name it. Why stink up the house deep frying and spatter all over? Do your fried chicken and calamari outside. Blackstone's Rangetop Combo With Deep Fryer does it all. Plus it has a built in cutting board, garbage bag holder, and paper towel holder. An additional work table on the left side provides plenty of counter space.

The Cool Kettle With The Hinged Hood We Always Wanted

NK-22-Ck Grill

Their NK22CK-C Charcoal Kettle Grill puts a few spins on the familiar kettle design. In fact, the hinged lid with a handle on the front, spins in a rotary motion 180 degrees. Professional Steakhouse Knife Set

masterbuilt gas smoker

Our founder, Meathead, wanted the same steak knives used by steakhouses such as Peter Luger, Smith & Wollensky, Morton's, Kobe Club, Palm, and many others. So he located the manufacturer and had them stamp our name on some. They boast pointed, temper-ground, serrated, high-carbon stainless-steel, half-tang blades with excellent cutting edge ability. The beefy hardwood handle provides a comfortable grip secured by three hefty rivets. He has machine washed his more than 100 times. They have never rusted and they stay shiny without polishing. Please note that we do not make, sell, or distribute these knives, they just engrave them with our name.
