    Lamb Shoulder help

    I have a ~8lb lamb shoulder sitting in my freezer just itching to be smoked. Probably won't get to it for a few weeks so taking suggestions and pointers?

    Well, you've probably already done your shoulder but if not (or for the next one) try Meathead's Sunlite Kentucky Black BBQ sauce & dip for lamb. It is really tasty and would make a great presentation especially for those who aren't sure they like lamb. Just finished one done this way & if I had a critique at all it would be that it really didn't taste that much like lamb. I love lamb so that was a little on the negative side for me, but it was tasty and tender with just a hint of lamb taste. No wonder this approach even works well with older (stronger flavored) & tougher mutton.

        Sunlight Q sauce with pulled lamb shoulder is amazing.

          I did one a couple of years ago for my daughter-in-law and cooked it like a Boston Butt. It came out quiet good.

            Chris Lilly has some lamb recipes in his book "Big Bob Gibson's BBQ Book". I too thought am wanting to try to smoke some sometime. I have a buddy who raises sheep and said he could hook me up. I love lamb cops and rack of lamb so I am optimistic about it. Let us know how it goes!
