We did too. My Mom fried nearly everything. What she didn't fry, she boiled. Salt and Pepper were her only "spices". I loved eating at my friends' homes. But those fried burgers were the bomb.
I’ve done deep fried burgers Alton Brown style. They are pretty good. Doesn’t end up that greasy, though I didn’t dunk it with the cheese on like this video. That’s seems like a good idea.
I still prefer smashburgers because the crust is more developed and there’s way less effort/mess.
