Butter instead of oil ? 325 degrees ok for crispy skin ?

    Just saw this thread and can confirm butter on the skin in a pellet smoker worked great for me. Bird pic here. I buttered the skin (and under) before putting it on, and at around an hour and a half in basted it again with melted butter and herbs. My grill is a Blazn Grand Slam, and it moves a good bit of air in that cooking chamber. The skin was definitely crispy. Have a fantastic Thanksgiving!
