ID:	582117 So I tried Meathead’s smoked turkey recipe (a practice run for Thanksgiving). I think it was a success. The turkey was very moist and tender. I’m not a huge turkey fan myself, but this was good. I think the gravy was a little too sweet and not salty enough. I did a horrible job of carving the bird (in my opinion). I’d love to hear some helpful tips and tricks from you guys before I do the one that counts next month.

When you cut the breast, do it across it, maybe 3/4" slices. You can separate it from the bones first. Here's Ed's Mighty Norman Rockwell style: https://pitmaster.amazingribs.com/fo...ockwell-turkey

I've learned to separate the breasts from the carcass and then slice across the grain. Use a filet or similarly slender knife to free up the breasts.

That’s what I attempted to do. But I felt like I did it wrong.
