Cheesy, garlic, tomato and basil loaf

Was supposed to have company today but alas, best made plans.....Cornish hens brining, ribs rubbed and my loaf just out of the oven when the cancellation call came in.

So what's a girl to do? I tell ya!! Play mean girl by texting a picture while telling him I'm cutting a hot slice and smothering it in melting butter and talking about how good it smells.

Tell ya what, he's damn lucky he caught me before I headed off for the seafood.

He was bringing a new toy he made for one of my birds and well, the bird isn't handling it well and......a little family secret we don't like to talk about..... Click image for larger version

What's the protein in the loaf? Ground beef? Turkey?

Yes, it is a bread but it is very heavy and dense like a loaf to me which is why I called it a loaf. Guess I shouldn't have done that. My bad.

Call it whatever you like. I just get curious about how stuff is made. I'm one of those 'I could do that' guys.

The recipe comes together very quick and easy. Big suggestion though is that the kosher salt amount is spot on so if switching salts, adjust accordingly.

You wouldn't catch me "loaf - ing" around if I had that invite. What does the birds have to say when those game hens come out of the oven?

HawkerXP its a standing joke around this house to threaten the birds with joining the smoked turkey, beer can chickens or Sous vide hens when they are giving me a ration of shit.

You should see my birds with ribs!!!

My friend had a legit reason and we will reschedule. Lol. I just get to have some fun playing mean girl about it and bomb his phone with food porn pics of what's cooking. Ribs are getting smoked today now and the Cornish hens will be in the Sous vide shortly. I held off just in case we could reschedule for today.

Well I needed to move yesterday's failed meal out of the fridge to make room for the different bacon cures I'm breaking down the 12 pound pork belly into. That being said, here's a couple pics of what's going where.

I've haven't decided how I'm going to finish each yet but will most likely be on the grill. I'll eat what I want for dinner, leave some in the fridge for tomorrow's lunch plus a little for a snack and the rest will be portioned out and vacuum sealed then into the freezer. My dads coming for a visit next week and usually comes with a small cooler to take home goodies. Actually, he's already asked me to make him another stuffed pork loin, like the last one.....
