    Rare or Medium Rare?

Would you consider this rare or medium rare? Wondering if my thermometer is not as accurate as I’d like.

Hard to say for certain, but I'd say medium rare.

I agree, definitely not rare by my standards, but sure looks very edible as done.

It was medium rare and 135 by my temp. I have not cooked that thick a steak before so wanted to check!

What kind of thermometer were you using? A quality digital one is your best friend. My Thermoworks Thermapen MK4 is loved by many here, and they just came out with a new one called Dash that does most of the same at a great price point.

That is a solid medium rare...but then again I don't have any Micheline Stars awarded to my backyard.

Medium rare though a couple of piece are on the rare side. It's not at all medium. There are definitions, folks - https://www.certifiedangusbeef.com/kitchen/doneness.php

It would be rare that nobody would want to eat that. I would without hesitation looks good.
I agree looks medium rare. I also prefer mine more on the rare side than the medium.

Well I guess my attempt to get a new Dash is busted as my Weber works just fine! Thanks for all the encouragement folks!
