Any thoughts on using Trader Joe's Everything Bagel Seasoning as a steak rub? In particular, I am wondering if components of the seasoning (e.g., sesame seeds) will create an unpleasant burnt taste when the steaks are seared on my Weber with Slow'n'Sear. Thanks!

I too would be leery of burning the sesame seeds when searing over the SnS. If you're dead set on trying that seasoning, you might try a front sear instead and apply the seasoning to the steak when you move it to the indirect zone.

I agree with adding it after the sear. Me, I prefer to front sear my steaks then add any seasoning I don't want blackened (burnt) after searing.

Perhaps the front sear as suggested and pick it up in a compound butter. You can sear in the rear that way too.
