    I did it a few years ago and it was awesome but I can't remember where the recipe came from. But I do know I bought the Sauerbraten spice from the Spice House they have the authentic blend all packaged up made it quite easy. You have to marinate and turn the meat for 3 days.

    Thanks. I have tried a few of his recipes and they have always turned out well.

    Never tried it myself ... but here is a link to an Alton Brown version of it. His stuff is usually pretty good and at worst, you can compare it to the Joy of Cooking version.

    With October creeping up, I was planning on trying my hand at sauerbraten. I know the Joy of Cooking has a recipe that is probably pretty reliable. However, I was wondering if anyone had a proven recipe or any tips. Thanks.
