    What to do With English Roast?

    My in-laws gave me a couple of frozen English roasts. I've always regarded them as a poor man's chuck roast - not nearly as marbled. I've used them for pot roast and that's about it. Are there any other dishes they are optimal for?

    If they can make for good pot roast then it sounds like you could smoke them for a while for flavor instead of searing then braise or put them in a crock pot to get really tender and shred for tacos, enchiladas, taquitos, chile relleno, stew, chili, etc.

      Not quite sure what that cut is, but if somewhat similar to chuck, it would grind into some great burgers if you add some fat.

        Ya might want to try Baltimore Pit Beef. That uses a cheaper clod of beef that doesn't have much marbling.

          Yeah, sounds like the number (or Italian beef, which is similar). Or sous-vide.
