...and THAT led to a decade long tour of the Mediterranean where he lost his crew (oddly enough, many to a Cyclops BBQ) and came home to find Penelope presiding over the Ancient World's longest bachelor party/wedding raffle. Are you kidding me??

...at least the dog remembered who he was...

That looks delicious. Anyone tried those "CAB" pre-seasoned Tri-Tips at Costco? Absolutely horrible. I asked the butcher there why they changed brands but he had no idea. he agreed with me though about how bad they are. I have tried cooking them like a steak, slow indirect, even in the oven, doesn't matter they all are like chewing rawhide and the seasoning mix tastes bad. In a pinch when I didn't have time to brine & season ahead of time I used to get their Morton's brand tri-Tips and they were always good. Not as good as the prime grade beef tri-tips they carry but still good even if you had to cook them in an oven. But these "Certified Angus Beef" ones they have now I wouldn't cook for my dog.

I bet you they're old, I've heard they use old meat with those preseasoned jobs.

I don't know, they even look different from the Morton brand. Thicker, and they have more grissel . For darn sure not as tender and you may be right they might be off a 400+ pound side. All I know is I would not waste money on one again. I just get Costco's tri-tip rather than this " Certified Angus Beef" or "CAB" tri-tip.
