Just got back from RD and I thought I had purchased a CAB brisket but I had left my reading glasses in the car. I grabbed a halal brisket by by accident and didn't realize it until I had cut the package open. My question is this: What grade is halal? I found this doing a cursory search: http://eggheadforum.com/discussion/1...lal-grade-meat
It looked pretty good although I noticed that the fat cap was not as thick or hard. It trimmed up pretty well and has a very nice bend to it. Will be cooking it on Sunday, will post pics when completed

I've bought halal and kosher, just to check it out. I must say, the halal chicken was noticeably better, but a bit pricey. May have even been a different breed than we commonly get.
I heard once that halal and kosher are basically the same, just different prayers.
