    Eating brisket with mustard?

I know that most people serve brisket plain, or with bbq sauce on the side for those who want it. But I can't help thinking that brisket would be AWESOME with mustard, or mustard and horseradish, or maybe a jalapeno mustard. Or a spicy coarse Dijon.

Aside from "It's your brisket, put whatever you want on it," what do you think?

Mustard on beef is amazing in my book. I can't say I've ever thought to put it on brisket, since it's perhaps not traditional...but yes yes yes, it will work! We have used both straight mustard and Meathead's Columbia Gold mustard BBQ sauce on beef kabobs before and loved it.

I put mustard on pot roast. It's fantastic.

I love mustard. In college the prime rib cutter at the restaurant we worked would give us extra pieces to take home. It had a heavy garlic rub, so we'd just rub mustard real thick all over the pieces, and put them under the broiler long enough to get hot.

MH's SC Mustard Q sauce is amazing on brisket, just like it is amazing on everything else.

I cooked a brisket Sunday and the wife brought mustard out when we ate it. I tried it and it was real good, especially with pickles.

I love, seriously LOVE, Meathead's Secretariat Sauce. I keep some mixed up in the frig. Great on steak, great on brisket sandwiches (hot or cold beef). A nice spicy coarse ground mustard is very good too.

Secretariat Sauce is what I serve on Christmas Day, alongside the prime rib.

Northerners will put mustard on anything... I might give it a try as i'm open to everything but it doesn't sound so hot to me. Of course I put ketchup on hot dogs too so what do I know?

I never eat brisket with bbq sauce... when I do a brisket, I make a sauce similar to Meathead's Secretariat sauce, that those in my family call Hutch's Brisket Sauce, 'cause it is the only food my uncle Hutch ever made! Basically just mix mayo, dijon mustard, horseradish, and worcestshire sauce. Perfect for both brisket and prime rib.

Yeah, Ive done th SC Mustard sauce, with great success. Listen guys, I've just joined recently, I'm on disability, and I've recently become addicted to Food Porn. in a short period, I have neighbors asking me to cook for them thanks to this site!

But yeah, I like doing the Mustard with the Brisket!

If you can find this, I recommend Bone Suckin' Mustard. I've had this with my brisket, and used it as a finishing sauce on my pork ribs. Spicy, but sweet. Best of all, all natural, and gluten free if that's a bonus for you.
