    Commercial sauce: 'Bone Suckin' Sauce'

Have any of you used the commercial product 'Bone Suckin' Sauce'? I tried it yesterday (bought at a big-box hardware store), and was not crazy about it - somewhat bland. It claims to have gotten awards from a health magazine and a food web site.

I'd like to give it a chance if I knew what style it was supposed to be. If it's a version of a regional sauce, like a Lexington red, I'd be more interested in it.

I have tried l was similarly unimpressed. Not bad mind you. Just nothing special to me.

I have their steak rub and it’s also bland. It’s not bad but not great. Also, it seems like pretty much every brand claims to be "award winning"

I did buy a 3-pack of commercial sauces from a guy who is supposedly famous for BBQ in Austin, TX. I liked all of them right away. Well, not on the same cut of meat.

It’s a Western Carolina style sauce. Meathead references to it as a good « benchmark » sauce for that style. My pork bbq’ing style is quite « Carolina », so when I run out of my homemade sauces, I actually like the Bone Suckin’. There’s a « thin », « thicker » and « hot » version up here in the Great White North. But it’s getting tougher to find.

I like it. It is really good on ribs.
That being said I have come to love Blues Hog’s sauces.

A 1 to 1 ratio of original Blues Hog's and original Head Country is my BBQ sauce.

As previously stated here: Typically no sauce on Any Thing...mebbe a lil out on th side, mebbe a variety; depends on on who / how many I might be feedin...

So, based upon above secrets, what, jus zackly, gonna happen, when I take Blues Hog, Head Country original, an some Bone Suckin Mustard, an mix em up, equal parts?

Blues Hog Smokey Mountain fan here for a good all-round sauce.

For pork, Dreamland's Sauce is outstanding.
