    Making My Own Sauce Question

Thinking about trying to make a couple of different sauces this weekend. I want to try the Alabama White and the Columbia Gold. My question is how long will does everyone think they will last in the fridge after making them?

I don't know about the mayonnaise based sauce but I kept my Columbian Gold in the freezer for months the buds stay fresher that way

      Probably months but certainly weeks.

recipe says a month or more. I had some commercial mustard based sauce that lasted several months, but I am sure it had preservatives in it.

I saw that on the Mustard after I posted, but there is nothing on the White.

Compare it to what you find on this site. https://stilltasty.com/ It has the shelf life of many things listed.

I didn't last long in our house as in gone right away. You're going to love it.

That Alabama White Sauce will be gone before you have to worry about it going bad. Be sure to give it a good shake before using.

Never made the Alabama white, but my homemade Shawsh with plenty o' vinegar has gone 6-9 months or more if kept sealed. When it had started getting 'old' is starts getting a slight sour tinge to it, like old orange juice. I agree with the above, you'll be fine and it will most likely run out long before it could go bad.

I've had the mustard sauce go moldy in 3 months. The KC BBQ is indefinite, at least good for a summer.

Top with a thin layer of olive oil in a glass container. Should keep it nearly indefinitely in the fridge.

Whiskey, cognac, etc. would probably help too. I always put a little vodka on my simple syrup to extend its life.
