Dreamland BBQ Sauce Clone Recipe?

Has anyone come across a bbq sauce recipe that comes close to the Dreamland BBQ sauce?

My wife *loves* that sauce, and I know fzxdoc does as well. Sadly, while it used to be a no brainer to find it on the grocery store shelf at both Walmart and Publix here, it’s just not in stock anywhere, and not even an empty spot for it on the shelves. I struck out at 4 stores yesterday, all listed as carrying the sauce on the Dreamland website…

I’ve got two butts smoking in a downpour under an umbrella at the moment, and am scouring the web and striking out finding any type of copycat recipe that seems close. Trying to avoid a 20 mile round trip but my next step is probably driving to the local Dreamland restaurant when they open and buying a couple of quarts…. But it sure would be nice to have a recipe that comes close as well, just to be able to whip up a big batch when needed.

My dad would’ve put bbq sauce on a salad! He would put raspberry vinaigrette on spaghetti and meatballs, on top of the ragu.

Panhead John it’s a thinner vinegar type sauce, and while I’ve not used it on a salad I’ve done that plenty with pulled pork on a salad and with Williamson Brothers bbq sauce. I think it would be good.

I may try that recipe to see how close it is, but today I may just bite the bullet and run out there.

I love Dreamland sauce on pork butts, pulled pork. The vinegary accent is perfect for all of that fatty pork. I'm happy to see that there is a copycat recipe for it, alhough my stepdaughter keeps me pretty regularly supplied with it.

Kathryn fzxdoc on the day in question (July 3rd) we went to Dreamland to pick up sauce. And ate lunch - boneless rib tips for Yvonne and 4 bones of SLS ribs for me, along with 2 quarts of sauce to go…. Then bbq I made that night, and ribs the next day at home, haha.

We went to Dreamland and ate and bought sauce while the 2 butts smoked on the kamado on the 3rd. I didn't show anything sauced with the Dreamland sauce though, but promise we went through half a quart jar of that stuff on the 4th! I took a cheaper and easier to find sauce to the friends house on the 3rd... Yvonne didn't want to share her Dreamland sauce with them, haha....
