    Grilled Corned Beef

    Has anybody grilled a corned beef? Thinking about doing it for a family reunion. Won't have the time to smoke it (pastrami)

    Right on the flat top with the kraut n cheese. Yes sir!

      I agree, however there is usually a fat layer on one side and I would remove that if you could.

        I've got a point. I'll trim the fat (1/4"?) and give it a good sear, then cook it on indirect medium for maybe 45 minutes. Wife will go for the kraut and cheese. I'll let you know how it turns oiut.

          The mention of being salty made me think how a normal corned beef is cooked. I would first simmer it in water with the seasoning pack if it comes with one. A couple of hours should be good. Then sear and smoke.

        This will probably produce a salty chewy hunk of meat.

        The first time I smoked a corned beef point I did not pre soak it and it was really salty.

        Also cooking a corned beef point quickly will not allow it to get tender.
