Memorial Day Weekend Menu: enter yours here

Having just done a brisket/brats/ribs (and today we are finishing off the brisket with brisket tacos...almost hate to chop a brisket that turned out such great slices!) we have one day of just burgers and hot dogs by the pool and one day of steaks + trimmings...I imagine some of you have something awesome planned.

Whatever is on sale, the menu will be built around that So I'll find out Wednesday what we're eating next weekend.

Freezer is stuffed. Need to use up some of what's in there. Ribs, butts, tri tips, short ribs....must cook not buy.

Baltimore Pit Beef. Something quick and easy so we can hopefully enjoy the pool for the first time this year.

After seeing some deviled eggs in the Show Us thread, definitely adding them to the list.

I use whatever looks good in the store. I usually look for, in order, Top Round, Top Sirlion, Bottom Round, and then Rump. Never know what Food Lion is going to have in stock when I visit. Just checked the freezer so it is going to be a Top Round and a Top Sirlion.

I took a new job on the West Coast, so we have a cross-country move coming up next month.

It's a good career move for me. I'me one of those weird specialist engineers that has to go where the work is. Fortunately my wife is a teacher and can get work anywhere.

The relocation package gave us the option of driving or flying, and we chose to fly and have our vehicles shipped. So no trip through Kansas this time. My dad is a native Kansan, if that makes a difference!

I’ve got a brisket that’s been wet aging about 40 days, so I’m gonna cook that. Maybe do some burgers and dogs one day too.

Red Snapper is a fine fish but I never knew you could make hot dogs out of them. Seems like a waste of fish to me but I will let you "Yankees" do what you want since you also have my second favorite crustacean on the menu...

No idea yet. Probably just burgers and dogs - since I have been on this site, I haven't done not one Ball Park or Nathan's. Maybe some brats. Something like some ABTs to munch on. I made some Giardiniera today; it will be just about better by next week...

The long over due leftovers buffet. Anything left from that will be sent home with the kids or chopped up and frozen for the soup pot this winter.

Having just eaten two meals of pulled pork today, from a butt that smoked overnight, i’m thinking beef or chicken are in order. That’s being full talking though... ribs and butts are paid for and in the deep freeze!
