    I have a pork shoulder going for a fishing trip this weekend. I gave the meat a spritz in the morning then headed out. Gonna run home in a bit, pull the shoulder, get a workout in and hold that baby all afternoon. This is gonna be a great treat for the ice house! FireBoard Drive made sure I could sleep easy, while it handled the rest. Pics when I get home.

    We got pummeled with snow and it's really cold today so we cooked dinner indoors. Our Weight Watcher's cookbook has a really good recipe for whole-wheat calzones. Onion, garlic, portabella mushrooms and sautéed spinach in a skillet. All of it loaded into the middle of the rolled out dough and topped with shredded mozzarella. In the pics below you'll see 3 calzones - one of them bigger than the other. That one was for my son and it had chopped pepperoni, a higher ratio of mozzarella and a zesty sauce I made. That sauce was poured over the top of the veggie calzones. All in all it was a very enjoyable dinner.

          Coarse sea salt, smoked 12 hours at 180/extreme smoke setting on my Rectec Stampede pellet smoker. B&B hickory pellets, which are 50/50 oak/hickory. I've never had smoked salt before, so I'm not sure how it compares. It has a great nose, but seems light on the smoke flavor. But I need to use it more to know if it is on par with commercial salts.

              Damn right it did! Had five of our guys working inside our house doing wiring since it was 12F outside. Gave it to them for lunch. They ate the entire pot in one sitting. Had to make another pot for the next round of employees the next day too.
