My son and family just purchased their first home after living aboard a boat for 8 years. Not much serious bbq happens on the deck of a boat so they were anxious to learn how. As a house warming gift, we purchased a 22' Weber Performer, SNS, ThermaPen, Smoke, Meathead's book and various accessories to get them started.
In the past 2 weeks we've smoked a boston butt and pulled it. We grilled chicken thighs, smoked two large batches of spare ribs, baked 2 halved chickens and reverse seared 10 smokehouse burgers and porter house steaks. All to perfection! s'mores over the remaining coals were a hit for the kids after each meal.
