Great deal ends in whole case purchase

Yesterday I found one lonely rack of SLCs in the case at Publix for $1.99/lb. That's an unheard-of price at most places, but especially Publix, "where shopping is a pleasure" (because prices are a pain).

So I went back today to see if there were anymore at that price, but they only had BBs in the case. I asked the butcher and he said they had some in the back and that they were $1.99/lb because someone over ordered for 5 local stores he brought out a case to get some out for me, but I realized I won't see that price again soon, so I just took the whole damn case. It's my first whole case, and it feels like Christmas morning. Ain't she gorgeous? I'm still thinking of names.

Congrats. I don't have enough freezer space to store that much meat. Do the Publix stores have "real" butchers? And do the carry packer briskets - at what price?

From my limited knowledge of "real butchers" they have the closest thing to it. I don't see whole Packers on display ever, but I wouldn't be surprised if they had them upon reques, and knowing Publix they'd order one single brisket uf necessary to please a customer.

Awesome find. Butcher shop in the area does case deals on pork butts sometime and I get in on those but I wish I could find a case of ribs like that!
