Krispy Kreme donuts with a Bacon Bourbon glaze and ice cream.

I saw @BigGreenCraig posted this on his IG account the other day and just had to try it.

Here are what is needed.



Smoke the bacon on the smoker. I placed some of the bourbon caramel sauce in microwave melted it, and then added a good amount to the Knob Creek Maple Bourbon( this stuff is great for cooking, I prefer their regular bourbon for drinking) to the melted caramel until desired constantly.

Then just crumble up the bacon and it to the glaze.

Put the donuts on the smoker/grill for 30 seconds a minute per side, then pour over the glaze and add some ice cream in the center.

This is seriously good and will now be our signature dessert for guests. Thanks @BigGreenCraig for the idea!

Sounds and looks delicious. I would have stacked them donuts 3 or 4 high so 2 dozen donuts minimum.....I have self-control issues when it comes to donuts.

I would give it a try but Crispy Cream opened a Store in South Fargo a few Years Ago! Tv Cameras, Police Escorts and Traffic Control? A Big HullaBulloo, Less than a Year Later Two Local Donut Shops and the Bill Collectors Escorted Crispy Cream out of Town?

When I was at the University of Virginia (right after Thomas Jefferson founded it!) there was a diner that was open all night and served something like this, called the grillswith. It was the donut and ice cream on the grill. I think the bacon and bourbon would be a vast improvement. But lots of those were consumed during late night/early morning study sessions.

I would argue that a typical large piece of chocolate cake you'd get a restaurant would have more sugar than this.
