    Some Fried Okry...

    #2
Exactly, just a light coating. Love fried okra but too many places overdo it on the coating. Now I want some, and some fried fatback too!

I love fried okra! We’ve gotten lazy in our later years and buy Stillwell breaded frozen okra. My aunt married a man from the UP of Michigan. He wouldn’t eat okra or black-eyed peas, he said they were cow food. Come to think of it he wouldn’t eat catfish either because they were scavengers. He darned near starved until they moved.

See okra often in stores. Have never made or eaten. Be buying next time I spot some.
Matt sure loaded that plate for such a skinny guy.

Fry some bacon. Remove when crispy and reserve some of the fat. Sautéed onions in the grease and when soft add okra and tomatoes. When cooked, add the crumbled bacon and a dash of hot sauce and serve over rice. It is a great way to celebrate okra season.
