Grandma Kern’s New Year’s Day Cabbage Casserole

Ingredients:
1 medium cabbage,shredded
1 pound of ground beef
1/2 bell pepper, chopped
1 medium onion, chopped
2-4 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper or 3/4 teaspoon Creole Seasoning
1/2 cup bread crumbs, preferably Progresso
1/3 cup parmesan cheese
Directions:
Sauté onion, garlic, bell pepper and ground beef. Mix in shredded cabbage and remaining ingredients and cook until cabbage is wilted. Place in a large covered baking dish and cook in the oven at 325 for 45 minutes.
Notes: Used every year since 1996, one year after her death.
