Need a rec for grill gloves

I have an old pair of gloves from the Marines for fast roping and those are what I use when I need them, other than that I have to go with the wool ones. I'm sure there are places out there buy I haven't really looked.

I've been thinking again, John ( always worrisome). Since it seems you have larger hands than I, where to you by winter gloves. I can't find any that fit me.
Or are you in a warm climate where winter floves are not needed?

Rule for HF:
Never buy anything with more than three moving parts.

Thanks all. I like the two glove fire / food approach recommended by Usernamevalid, so I put in an order of the set recommended by The Burn (they look like something The Predator would wear, which is super cool) and a pair of the orange silicone for food handling.

Measured my hand just to the start of the palm, not the glove, you can see how 8.5 inches wouldn't fit well. The middle finger on your pic shows about 3" long, my middle finger is 4" long, so while it stretches a tiny bit, I can't spread my fingers out at all.

Anything with cloth can be dangerous. If they get wet or damp and you pick up something hot, the water will turn to steam. I have a pair of Pit Mitts that got pretty hot in that very manner. I still use them, but only for the fire part. For food I picked up a set of those orange bumpy food grade silicone they sell on Amazon. More than enough protection to remove a pork butt or brisket from the smoker. They're also going to get used for turkey. Dishwasher cleaning is nice too.
I have a pair of actual mitts with the long arm, like gauntlet. No fingers is a pain.

I have the version of Pit Mitts that have the longer cuff but I haven't seen any other sizes. I would agree that the seem a bit small since they fit me well.

totally agree.. Welding gloves are great for re-positioning cast iron pcs but when it comes to handling the food itself, I'm lucky i share a space with an EMT that has access to disposable gloves. They work great most of the time...
-
I wouldn't use any of these "oven mitts" for pulling or handling meat. Get yourself some insulated PVC gloves for that task. I use welding gloves for handling the hot metal bits and charcoal.
-
i saw this in one of the questions for this product...
Q: are they suitable for pulling pork or chicken?
A: Suitable for getting the pork or chicken off of the grill, also suitable for "pulling" if you are using bear claws. I would not recommend pulling with just these gloves as they will absorb too much of the grease.

Even my (beloved) welder's gloves are only rated for 900 degF contact heat and 1200 degF ambient heat.
