There we go! As others add I remember what our line up is! The Grinch, Santa Clause Trilogy, of course A Christmas Story - the entire day - and Elf has grown on me over the years.

And MTurney - glad we agree on Die Hard hahaha

The top 3 for me would be.... I can't watch them over and over though, this is just a must watch once a year during Christmas week....
                1. Charlie Brown Christmas
                2. Rudolph the red-nosed-reindeer (or whatever the claymation show is titled, but it has a bumble and I don't argue with bumbles)
                3. OG Animated The Grinch

What I can watch on loop? Maybe in a few years they will replace the above, especially since I don't have kids and don't have to worry about reinforcing tradition

I'm not big into Christmas movies... But there is one I watch every single year, without fail. Unfortunately, my wife hates it - so I normally watch it in the kitchen on my Fire HD 8 while I'm getting Christmas dinner ready. This year, my wife has blessed me to watch it, just this one time, in the living room...

                  A Christmas Story

When I was in 4th grade - I played the trumpet, and was really looking forward to playing in the Christmas concert. The morning of the concert, one of my valves stuck and couldn't be repaired in time. The band teacher told me that I couldn't participate, not even just sit with the band. I was about to cry. Dad said "We're not staying here." and packed up the family in the car, left the school and went to the local Italian restaurant for dinner. Then we walked next door and saw A Christmas Story in the movie theater together as a family.

That movie has always meant a lot to me - because it was an annual visual representation about how much my Dad loved me. He passed away in February of this year, which is why my wife blessed me watching it in the living room. No guarantee she'll stay in the living room, she really does hate it that much.

I always felt there's so many things for so many people to connect to in that movie, but I can understand the folks who don't like it. I know what ya mean about parts of a movie providing comfort in memories. For me it's the Sandlot, which is weird 'cause I suck at sports, but well it didn't matter with the friends I rolled with, they found a place for me.
