    • I cook on a 15-year-old Kamado #9, a huge beast nearly 6 feet tall and with black ceramic tile on the outside. I of course love smoked meats of all kinds, but also like quick cooks like chicken portions, pork tenderloins and fish. Really into cooking of all kinds. Just added an outdoor fire pit that has grilling capability and limited Santa Maria-style grill raising and lowering.

But wait, there's more! It appears I posted too soon above, and a second box just arrived from Beefchop. Now, to go along with the Mercer slicer we have the sheath for it, a set of Bear Paws (something else I didn't have!) and a bottle of Lambert's Sweet Rub O' Mine rub. The rub smells wonderful. Can't wait to try it.

They are also awesome for moving big hunks of meat around, too ..... a pork butt or turkey that's awkward to try and move. Do it with the Bear Paws.

Panhead John Santa asked me to let you know you should get lit on Friday or Saturday. What he meant by that I haven't a clue, but he asked me to let you know!

And thank you! I’m gonna be out of town Thursday thru Sunday, but I’m gonna let my neighbors know to get it for me. I’ll post my proud pics Sunday!

Newsflash! The state of Texas is announcing that stores will be rationing paper plates for the rest of the year. It appears that someone in Houston has bought so many paper plates that there is now a shortage!
Panhead John could you investigate this for us?

I used to do breakfast all the time (it was my favorite meal before getting married), but not generally my wife's thing, so we make breakfast maybe once a month at best... However we both love breakfast foods and this stuff all looks amazing. We haven't had jelly/jam in the house in a long time since I rarely have a chance to use it all before it goes bad, but it's something I've always loved and these are the perfect size. My wife is excited to try the bacon and pancakes. Everything in this box makes me super happy!

I can't wait to make breakfast (probably brunch) this or next weekend! I even already figured out how to modify a keurig pod so I don't have to share the coffee at work

So to my secret Santa (I know your name, but not your user name here), we thank so so very much.

You just couldn't hold it in, could you Panhead John ? I figured so when you gave your clues. I'm looking forward to not having to wash dishes for a while!

I like this exchange because I feel like it connects people on a deeper level than just talking on a forum. I still use the flamethrower and meat shredders that CaptainMike got me a few years ago and think of him whenever I do. I also really enjoy getting someone a gift that I put a lot of thought into, and I hope they enjoy it too

Well this is a bummer, the recipient of my gift will be getting 3 separate packages, 1 tomorrow, 1 Saturday, and 1 hasn't even shipped yet... The bummer is that it all came from the same place, and the same order... can't figure out why they split it all up, so hopefully each shipment has the message from me, or at least the one arriving tomorrow does so you're not confused.

I enjoy watching what every one else gets as much as what I get. I dunno if it's 'cause we don't have kids, but it's very enjoyable to observe people getting stuff. My parents always ask me what I want, every year I tell 'em I don't need anything because we buy whatever we want... If I told my parents what I wanted, I'd get exactly that. I do stuff like this and the chances are high I get something I wanted but didn't know it, It's a legit surprise and that's invaluable. Thanks for setting it up

I let the secret out earlier, but I got PBCDad in the Secret Santa. The cat got outta the bag that I was gonna get him the Deluxe Paper Plates Party Pack. Well, immediately an intense firestorm of controversy erupted....soon pitting members against me and each other. There were accusations of illegal methods being used in the matching process. Along with whispers of this whole Secret Santa drawing being rigged. Everyone was jealous about not being the recipient of my paper plates. So, in order to restore sanity to The Pit, I have decided to withdraw my present and NOT give PBCDad the party pack of paper plates. I’ll just get him something else.

If you have a Weber Kettle, you need the Slow 'N' Sear

slow n sear
The Slow 'N' Sear turns your grill into a first class smoker and also creates an extremely hot sear zone you can use to create steakhouse steaks.

The Good-One Is A Superb Grill And A Superb Smoker All In One

the good one grill
The Good-One Open Range is dramatically different from a traditional offset smoker. By placing the heat source behind and under the smokebox instead of off to the side, Open Range produces even temperature from left to right, something almost impossible to achieve with a standard barrel shaped offset.

Griddle And Deep Fryer In One

Pit Barrel Cooker Smoker
The flat top does the burgers and the fryer does the fries. Use the griddle for bacon, eggs, and home fries. Or pancakes, fajitas, grilled cheese, you name it. Why stink up the house deep frying and spatter all over? Do your fried chicken and calamari outside. Blackstone's Rangetop Combo With Deep Fryer does it all!

The Pit Barrel Cooker May Be Too Easy

Pit Barrel Cooker Smoker
The PBC has a rabid cult following for good reason. It is absolutely positively without a doubt the best bargain on a smoker in the world. Period. This baby will cook circles around the cheap offset sideways barrel smokers because temperature control is so much easier.

The Thermoworks Thermapen MK4 is considered by the pros, and our team, to be the single best instant read thermometer. The MK4 includes features that are common on high-end instruments: automatic backlight and rotating display. Don't accept cheap substitutes.

The PK-360, with 360 square inches of cooking space, this rust free, cast aluminum charcoal grill is durable and easy to use. Our Favorite Backyard Smoker

kareubequ bbq smoker

The amazing Karubecue is the most innovative smoker in the world. The quality of meat from this machine is astonishing.
