    Mia's first redfish

Turns out my 7 year-old daughter loves fishing as much as I do. I am blessed. Yesterday she caught her first redfish, and what a first it was.

Thanks cgrover60. It's awesome for me to be able to live that again. Mia came along in my second-act of life, so I get another go at seeing the joy of a child learning to fish and loving it.

Neither did I, EdF. Funny story - right before she caught this the Fish and Wildlife officers rode by us and snagged her line on their motor. By the time I could grab my knife there was only 40 yards of line left on the spool. When she hooked that beast the line was only wrapped around the spool twice! So it was epic.

Fishing at a relatives trailer park years ago, adults needed fishing licenses, children under 12 did not.
So I take my daughter out to fish, she catches a fish tosses me the rod and hits the road as park rangers show up.
"May we see your fishing license sir...."
Guys understood, good thing, its a pretty stout fine and property seizure for fishing without a license in Ontario.
      Nice catch.

Mia would have been as happy with a bluegill as she was with that red!
