Doin’ ok HouseHomey . Maybe wishing I’d been a little more judicious about spending quite so much time exploring the +6/-5g limits of the old Pitts back in the day. Thanks for asking, amigo.

I remember going to the Smithsonian in the 3rd grade and seeing the Apollo exhibits and thinking that it had all happened such a long time ago. Hard to believe that even more time has passed now since Discovery flew.

That paint job you hate looks like it might be a color from BASF called Mystic. Flopped green, purple, gold, and some mixed hues depending on light/angle.

It is. Uncle Bob I think it's fine as a stripe or something small but not as the main base color. They also called themselves "Sexy Jet" Here is a video of the painting. https://vimeo.com/144164798 I don't know what they paid but our last paint job on same type aircraft, was just over $400,00.00 White with two colored stripes.

Troutman, you know your aircraft Steve! More precise it's an EC-121R, E for electronic, R for reconnaissance. Spent close to 1200 "combat" hours riding in them. A few hairy moments, but mostly fond memories.

Hey, cool, we’re havin our own eaa sorta.
The next pics I will show, one of em will be my favorite. There are two designs that have been imprinted In my brain since Insaw them. They are timelessly classic, one being tha AC Cobra (that’s a really, really fast sports car to those in Oconomowoc) &!the gull wing Corsair. Forgive me if I’m long winded, but I’m tellin ya’ll about what the pics are about, then showin ya what I was telling ya about, cuz I have not mastered
the word combined with the pic thing yet. There will then be a few others that Inthoufht were special.

Don't have a pic of it, but the coolest thing I ever saw at EAA was a B-52 taking off. I saw it take off with my own eyes, but to this day I'd swear nothing that big is ever going to make it off the ground.

I was hitchhiking in the U.P. I’m goin to say about 71’. I knew where I was & where I was goin. Didn’t know there was an AFB right near where I was. A B-52 flew over head taking off, so close I felt I could touch it. It almost shocked everything out of every opening in the body, quite a surprise.

BTW th folded wing A/C above is a "Sumbitch 2nd Class", or SB2C, decidedly not a Vought / Chance F-4xx Corsair, or Goodyear F3 which would be considerable more like:

Th Legendary "Whistin Death ", what with that P&W 2800 CI Turbosupercharged engine gobblin 110-120 octane (=AvGas) , I reckon they's a reason th Japanese called it "Whistling Death"
