ISVA WINNER !! Troutman's QVQ Brisket

Well I wasn't the Best Overall Recipe winner but I did win Most Creative Recipe in the ISVA recipe competition for the QVQ Medium Rare Brisket entry.....

    https://www.theisva.org/bbq-recipe-contest-finalists-1

Along with the win I did receive a prize, unfortunately it was not the SUV Flamethrower I was hoping to win but will be receiving a nice prize none-the-less, an Inkbird
    IBT-6XS multi-probe BBQ thermometer....

As promised, and in appreciation for your votes , I will forward one lucky winner this little jewel as soon as I receive it. We had a little over 50 of you vote, each of you was assigned a number based on the order I received the votes on line and a random generator chose Number 14 who happens to be BFlynn !!! So congrats to you bud. Please PM me with your name and address so I can send it along once I receive it !!

Thanks again guys for all the support from the Pit. I also want to say these kinds of recipes wouldn't even be in my wheelhouse were it not for the collective ideas, trials, errors and great cooks from a lot of you gentlemen and ladies. Special shout out to Polarbear777 , Potkettleblack and a guy some of you may remember FlaBouy (who managed to get himself banned) for the help and inspiration on this recipe. I want to encourage each of you to step up, look for these types of contests, bring recognition to and continue to help make AR the best cooking website on the planet !!!

Troutman is outta here, but not without a parting shot !!!

I did get one of those SV guns early on. Basically a very ergonomic weed burner with fine control. I actually find it more useful for cleaning stuff than finishing SV food.

That's one of the reasons I was going to give it away, I have one as well !! I mainly use mine to start wood and charcoal fires like a small weed burner !!

I guess I’m not surprised by any of that. ;-)

QVQ and SVQ is definitely catching on.

especially for folks I know who don’t have a dedicated smoker, it’s a lot easier when only a few hours of smoke is required vs 8-12 in many traditional applications.
