    On another level

It's been a week since the country moved to level 3. A few less restrictions and for most the availability of liquor. It is permitted to be sold Monday thru Thursday 9am to 5pm.
Sales of smokes is still not allowed. The black market is making a killing. Did with booze and the prices of ciggies have gone wild. A pkt 20 Peter Stuyvesant normal price averages R39.00 ppl are now paying up to R400.00.

That's not actually what I was wanting to share.

Level 3 also allows people to collect food. It was restricting and difficult for me preparing food and doing the delivery myself under level 4.

Happy to announce sales are on the up. The increase coming largely from people able to collect that I wasn't able to deliver too from surrounding suburbs.
My regulars or "locals" have been sharing how good my Smash Burgers are and now thst collection's are allowed they are a coming from all over.
I take orders on Whatsapp and Telegram and let people know a few minutes before it's ready so they can leave to collect.
This is and isn't a brag but the new people are referring to the burgers with a "I hear your burgers are world famous".
I still find it difficult to understand how such a simply prepared burger is so good. There is a local restaurant that specialises only in burgers that is very popular and people say my burgers are far superior and way cheaper.
I have not had a Burger from them so can't comment.

Then there is always a referance to how amazing the sauce is. The word "amazing" is used more often than not. Thanks Huskee's original shawsh.

Have made Pork Belly Burnt Ends that have been a big hit. I am constantly asked when I'm making more. I would but finding the time is my excuse and it is kind of true.
Bought 25 pounds of whole bellies today to make bacon and hopefully some burnt ends.
My homemade bacon on the double patty cheese burger is a big hit. I'm forever running out of bacon.
Sold the last yesterday and don't have any curing.

Sharing this because I'm grateful that I'm in a better position than a lot of other's given this "Rona" and that I learnt to make these "world famous" Smash Burgers from this here Amazing Pit.

Wouldn’t expect less from you than you cooking a “World Famous” burger. You do, after all, have a worldwide fan base here in the Pit. Good on you for making lemonade when the virus has handed you and your country a bunch of lemons.

Thanks for the kind words and it's very satisfying serving up a good burger that is enjoyed.

Regarding the "World Famous Smashburger", my Dad used to say that it was his "secret ingredient". Decades into my adulthood, I finally figured it was "love and attention". Glad things are looking up!

The most important ingredients those Sir. I have come across many street vendors who are doing it for the money without the love and it shows in the food.

Beer and liquor stores are back to normal hours here too.
Good thing, stupid line ups where cutting into my cocktail hours.
Why would they suspend the sale of smokes, loss of sin tax monies alone would cripple most countries economies.

On the cigarettes there's more at play, but I'll leave it at that.

Your burgers are indeed world famous. I've heard of them and I'm about as far across the world from you as one can get! Never doubt the locals, they know!

I'm skeptical of this world famous burger with homemade bacon.

Better send a few dozen to check out.
    Do you need my address?

Seriously, that's great. And I'm super jealous I can't have one of your burgers

Wonderful news! Glad things are going better for you. Here in Maryland, the liquor stores were allowed to remain open as “essential businesses.” Al I can say is thank goodness they were!

Here’s hoping that things continue to look up for you!

Now I have to go learn how to make smash burgers...

Congrats on conditions improving, and your success with customers.
I made smashburgers for the first time recently. Cooked them on a griddle (solid metal plate.) Best burgers I ever made! I think it's due to the juices carmelizing over the entire burger surface (the 'Maillard Effect'.)

They are the best. People are not familiar with the technique these parts and forever asking me to sell them my burger patties. Most don't grasp that it's not the beef patty but the preparation method thereof.
