    What does MCS mean?

I see it all the time here and I am clueless. Sorry if I missed a vocabulary glossary for newbies.

    More Cooker Syndrome

You will catch it if you stick around long enough.

Simply put it is More Cooker Syndrome. The more you read posts in the Pit the more you start to want another cooker if for no other reason than the experience of cooking on them. If we could rent them for two weeks there would fewer purchases of cookers.

I’ve recently graduated from MCS Anonymous. It’s been a day-to-day challenge but I do see light at the end of the tunnel. I’m just hoping that light isn’t yet another cooker I formally lusted after.

I thought the same recently. For me, that light is the charcoal starting to ignite in a Masterbuilt Gravity Series 560.

I think that light is just another firebox being lit. Can you really graduate? Isn't it more of a lifetime final test?

It's the outdoor cooking-specific strain of Gear Acquisition Syndrome (GAS).

It also means you should start an "off-balance sheet" slush fund for cooking equipment, if you haven't already done so.

if you stand closer than 6’ to your or any smoker, you get it! Some here are asymptomatic, they just start buying cookers and do’t even know they have it. Others here see that and then they get it just by reading your posts. I’d say 1000’s here have it but the good news is the only side effect is applause at the dinner table!

It’s when you think you have all the outdoor cooking gear you want, only to find out you are wrong.

I think an appropriate diagnosis might be MCS-19...You need to have 19 cookers before symptoms subside..Lol... I think only Mr. Bones might be cured.....Not...

I went down the rabbit hole right after I found out about AR. Bought me Grill Grates for my Char Broil gasser. Thermoworks has been getting a bit of my money as of late. Next up, a new smoker.
