A blast from the past, (literally).

I know I have a weird sense of humor, but this put a big smile on my face:

We know a thing or two because we've seen a thing or two.

One of my all-time favorites. Thanks for finding it again, Ron.

      Still laughing at "land-blubber newsmen".

        LOLOL!
Moral of the story: Don’t blow up any dead whales that are layin around, cuz somethin juss might git ya.

Its also obvious that there was no one available with experience in explosives.

This film is used a lot in command and incident management training.

Funny story, totally true, similar ending.

When I was in the Army Guard my unit was at various times earth movers and combat engineers, switched more than once. Before my time but not before the time of some of the NCO's, they needed a little explosive practice. It was January in North Dakota and a farmer had a beaver dam blocking a creek on the property. This was the perfect opportunity two kill two birds with one stone, so they loaded up a few trucks with soldiers and one truck with some C4 and off they went. Everything went well as they placed the charge, then moved some distance away. They set it off. The story from there went something like this:

Soldiers look up at the beaver dam and ice going up in the air, "Whoa!...... Oh sh++!" Down come chunks of icy beaver dam as big as your head. Guys were diving under the trucks for cover. The trucks sustained some damage.

You did, someone else replied to a post with it, but I don't recall who or which post.

I absolutely love the reporters take on the whole thing.

Man...that is some great reporting! I wish KATU still was that funny...

And is it weird that the explosion made me giggle? Or is that just the isolation taking it's toll? 🤠

I don't know, but the splattering sounds of that stuff hitting the ground really cracked me up! 🤣
