Hey Everyone! I will get this going this weekend! What a great tradition that we need to keep going.
I am sorry for the delay, I have been very busy with my other job. I should have some time this weekend to line everything up and get the sleigh moving!

The saying "better late than never" really comes in handy now. Last year, as part of the Secret Santa 2019 happening I received a gift card for a local bbq joint here in Stockholm named "Brisket & Friends". My secret Santa is mrteddyprincess. Very kind indeed, and such a fitting gift! But then COVID happened, and I simply haven't been able to use it until now (!). My solution was to order pickup/takeaway. They have all the usual suspects on the menu, and I wanted to try most of 'em. Lucky for me it was a generous gift, and they have what they call "Table Breakers". I ordered two of them and took home to my wife. No need to cook dinner today! Below you can see a photo of what we received.
Top left box
Pulled pork
Some kind of sausage, with a bit of kick to it
Pork belly burnt ends
Bottom left box
Pork belly with some kind of orange glaze - very good!
Brisket (Creekstone farms)
Then we have the three plastic jars
Creamy potato salad (with some chili pepper in it)
Pickled red onion and pickles
Cole slaw
And finally
Baked beans
Mac 'n cheese
Corn bread
Now this is food for 2 people. It's a great spread, but I wouldn't call it 'table breaker'. More like a sampler. Still good though.
I talked a bit to the guy while waiting for pickup, so I found out that the brisket is from Creekstone farms. And they use electric ovens/smokers, but he emphasized that they use real wood for smoke. Not sure how it works, I guess they fire up some wood chunks and let that smoke into the ovens.
There was a mild but pleasant smoke flavor to the meat. Just a bit light for me, but it's way better than oversmoked food. Everything was tender and full of flavors. The brisket was cold and a bit dry, and the Mac 'n cheese tasted very little, but all the other stuff was good.
Overall I really enjoyed getting takeout bbq as opposed to cooking it myself. So easy! And it was a genuinely great gift, very fitting. Thanks again mrteddyprincess!

Hank! Thanks for the review. Glad you enjoyed a meal and it was so nice talking to you from Secret Santa 2019. I also enjoyed the process of finding a BBQ joint in Sweden. That was a first for me, and the people I met were so nice. Best wishes to you and your family. :-) Merry Christmas!
