Mr. Bones I also run my TV through my stereo. I have a 7 Dolby Yamaha system with 7 speakers. I had the electrician run the wires behind the wall after our house burned down 5 years ago. It has 150 watts per channel.

I’ve got a 4K Samsung. When watching cable (Comcast) the blacks are pixelated. When watching my 4K Blu-ray player or streaming Netflix there’s no pixelation. I blame the poor broadcast quality of cable.

We're still soldering on with our Toshiba 27" standard definition picture tube TV, so my opinion is of little use to anyone but the really, really cheap.

Wasn't too long ago, I got rid of a really nee-ice Sony 27" CRT flat screen, fantastic telly, to be sure, but I promised my dang self that I was never gonna move that sucka again; hail, it likely weighed half what I do...

We had 2 of the same Sony's, they weighed triple what I do and I ain't light.
They were fantastic TV's but took up so much room.
My left guy hasn't been the same since lugging those things to the dump and there wasn't a thing wrong with them.

I had a 36" Toshiba "flat" screen with a picture tube back in the 90's. THAT was a heavy TV, and I blame it for some of my ongoing back problems 20+ years later, as that honker weighed 180 to 200 pounds, and I for sure dead lifted it and moved it around the house more than once.

Whatever you buy will half the price when the new models come out in 6 months.

just got through the agonizing process of researching/purchasing a new OLED TV. Consider what you expect from the display is one of the most important aspects of the decision process. Whatever you decide, Black Friday and Pre-Super Bowl are the best time to buy.

Someone has already mentioned this, but I recently bought an LG OLED Ultra 4k 70" for our main viewing. The advantages to OLED is the absolute black background. It is the cutting edge industry standard at this point. Why is that important? I makes every other color pop. Go to a high end TV store and do some comparison shopping. Samsung comes in a very close second with their QLED technology but doesn't quite match LG in my opinion.

The downside of OLED technology (you know there has to be a minus), is they are very susceptible to screen burn in. It can ruin the organic LED screen if it happens. They have a refresh setting that supposedly compensates if it does happen but they only recommend it if need be and then only once a year. It degrades the screen every time its utilized. So far I haven't had any problems with that.

Also be prepared to fork out some bucks, like $3000+. Having said that, it's still the best picture I've ever seen in a TV, especially in Ultra 1080p programming.

As a side note I've been a big fan of Sony for many years going back to the Trinitron days. I still have two of their TVs, they are built like tanks. I recently learned that their new models use LG's flat screen and their electronics. That makes Sony a solid contender as well.

We bought a new TV about a year ago and compared the LG OLED with the Sumsung QLED. It was fairly close but the OLED won out for me as well and I've been very happy with it.

au4stree I like to use the below resources. They seem to be very objective and honest as far as I can tell. It's what lead me to buy my new Sony this past weekend. So when your budget gets back on track, check these out. They are kind of like the BBQ version of AR...all the tech/science you can handle and bare bones explanations. Which ever you prefer.

If you look at unbiased reviews, the Vizio P Series are usually ranked among some of the best non-OLED TV's out there, I have one from a couple years ago and have been super satisfied with it. The M series look pretty good too, but have fewer LED back-light zones. When I bought mine I was comparing the P series to Sony and Samsung sets that cost 800-1000 more and could not find discernible improvements.

My first HDTV from like 2007 was a Vizio, my in-laws are using it now and still going strong. I did however buy one of the cheaper models for a secondary TV a number of years ago and was not very satisfied. Had a lot of the issues described with the pixelization, etc. It still works though, just not a stellar sports TV.

The Good-One Is A Superb Grill And A Superb Smoker All In One

                the good one grill

The Good-One Open Range is a charcoal grill with an offset smoke chamber attached. It is dramatically different from a traditional offset smoker. The grill sits low in front and doubles as a firebox for the smoke chamber which is spliced on above and behind so it can work like a horizontal offset smoker only better. By placing the heat source behind and under the smokebox instead of off to the side, Open Range produces even temperature from left to right, something almost impossible to achieve with a standard barrel shaped offset.
