    Audio System

I know this could flop. It's been a rainy day and I have had all afternoon to do nothing accept think. That alone can be scary.
So as I have posted recently on music and type of preferences now I thought it would be interesting to see how folks listen. I'm no audiophile. But when I want to do some critical listening, I want to enjoy it. So I thought sharing the how can be a positive interaction. Here's some shots of my system.

Nice digs, our place is a dungeon compared to all the windows you have.
I used to have the big system with all the bells and whistles, monster speakers and amp that went up to 11.
Now I seem to get more enjoyment out of my Bose Soundlink Mini.
Have it blue toothed to my laptop and put on YouTube for whom ever I'm into at that moment.
Or have XM on my iPhone again with blue tooth for outside.

We have 4 of these. They are about the size of a 24oz. can of beer. They can sync together or you can just use one. I think they have really good sound.

My daughter has this unit, not one thing wrong with this speaker.
I'll let her know you can sync more than one together
        Thanx for that info.

I've slowly been moving some of our home audio over to a Sonos system. I still have a component system in the basement, but honestly I dont think it's so much better than the Sonos stuff in the rest of the house that I wont replace it down the road.

Used to consider myself an audiophile, but my hearing went south after all the concerts and shooting I did in my youth. Sold it all and had a Control4 system installed during our recent remodel. I'm happy where I'm at. Still have my vinyl and a turntable hooked up to the system. Never listen to it.

Man. Since I moved to a 1 bedroom in the sticks, I hooked up my system but don’t have time to enjoy it (since I’m up to my neck in the food trailer. So what’s the next best thing? Portables. So I did some research something I can carry around and use on my trailer. So I found these Sony Xb-41 and love em. Now I throw one on my work truck and jam out going down the road during my day job. What’s nice is you can hook up to 99 more of em together. I’m listening to it right now waiting. I believe they are only a couple of decibels lower than Bose of the same size (I believe it was 106 decibels)

I have a Sony amp connected to a set of DCM loudspeakers I bought back in the 90s from the now defunct Incredible Universe (radio shack’s terrible attempt to create their own mall and sell higher end stuff).

A few years ago I added an Energy sub and center speaker, giving me a 3.1 system. The amp also powered 2 outdoor speakers, which are wired as rear left and right. The amp can handle 7.1 systems.

But mostly i use a $30 2.1 self powered system I got on sale at the wholesale club. I thing the sub on it is a 4 inch speaker, a far cry from the 12 inch in the house. But it is more convenient. The main system is now only usable when my wife takes the kid to go visit grandparents and I am left under my own supervision. The smaller system sounds all right for what it is, but I can use it whenever.

                the good one grill

The Broil King Signet 320 is a modestly priced, 3-burner gas grill that packs a lot of value and power under the hood. The Good-One Is A Superb Grill And A Superb Smoker All In One

                the good one grill

The Good-One Open Range is a charcoal grill with an offset smoke chamber attached. It is dramatically different from a traditional offset smoker. The grill sits low in front and doubles as a firebox for the smoke chamber which is spliced on above and behind so it can work like a horizontal offset smoker only better. By placing the heat source behind and under the smokebox instead of off to the side, Open Range produces even temperature from left to right, something almost impossible to achieve with a standard barrel shaped offset.

                Pit Barrel Cooker Smoker

Griddle And Deep Fryer All In One

The flat top does the burgers and the fryer does the fries. Use the griddle for bacon, eggs, and home fries. Or pancakes, fajitas, grilled cheese, you name it. Why stink up the house deep frying and spatter all over? Do your fried chicken and calamari outside. Blackstone's Rangetop Combo With Deep Fryer does it all. Plus it has a built in cutting board, garbage bag holder, and paper towel holder. An additional work table on the left side provides plenty of counter space.

                Pit Barrel Cooker Smoker

The PBC has a rabid cult following for good reason. It is absolutely positively without a doubt the best bargain on a smoker in the world. Period. This baby will cook circles around the cheap offset sideways barrel smokers in the hardware stores because temperature control is so much easier. Best of all, it is only $299 delivered to your door!

                Placeholder

The smart folks at ThermoWorks have finally done it: The Swiss Army Knife of thermometers, two in one. Start with the industry standard food thermometer, the Thermapen MK4, (Platinum Medal winner) truly instant (2 to 3 seconds) precise (+ or – 0.7°F). Then they built in an infrared thermometer ideal for measuring the temps of pizza stones, griddles, and frying pans (also great for finding leaks around doors and windows in your house).

                Professional Steakhouse Knife Set

                masterbuilt gas smoker

Our founder, Meathead, wanted the same steak knives used by steakhouses such as Peter Luger, Smith & Wollensky, Morton's, Kobe Club, Palm, and many others. So he located the manufacturer and had them stamp our name on some. They boast pointed, temper-ground, serrated, high-carbon stainless-steel, half-tang blades with excellent cutting edge ability. The beefy hardwood handle provides a comfortable grip secured by three hefty rivets. He has machine washed his more than 100 times. They have never rusted and they stay shiny without polishing. Please note that we do not make, sell, or distribute these knives, they just engrave them with our name.
