The Good-One Is A Superb Grill And A Superb Smoker All In One

the good one grill

The Good-One Open Range is a charcoal grill with an offset smoke chamber attached. It is dramatically different from a traditional offset smoker. The grill sits low in front and doubles as a firebox for the smoke chamber which is spliced on above and behind so it can work like a horizontal offset smoker only better. By placing the heat source behind and under the smokebox instead of off to the side, Open Range produces even temperature from left to right, something almost impossible to achieve with a standard barrel shaped offset.

The Swiss Army Knife Of Thermometers

Placeholder

The smart folks at ThermoWorks have finally done it: The Swiss Army Knife of thermometers, two in one. Start with the industry standard food thermometer, the Thermapen MK4, (Platinum Medal winner) truly instant (2 to 3 seconds) precise (+ or – 0.7°F). Then they built in an infrared thermometer ideal for measuring the temps of pizza stones, griddles, and frying pans (also great for finding leaks around doors and windows in your house).

Thanks. About the only thing of importance is the irrigation, it involves quite a bit of walking, and it has to be done twice a day.

dude! that is rough! i truly hope you heal up well. Aside from all the kidding and joking, watch those pain meds brother. Ive seen people go down that path and it aint fun, creeps up on you without you even knowing. Had a buddy who blew out his ankle on ice, pins, screws, ligament damage...the whole deal. He was laid up for a while and even though he needed the pain meds it was almost like detox for him when he stopped.

Anyways, the point is, be safe be happy and get well soon brother.

Is there a high school near you with an FFA chapter. There are some fine young people in FFA. If so, reach out to their advisor. You may find the help you need and get to meet some great kids too. I hope you get good reports today! Uncertainty is a pain all by itself.

Today started off with the CT scan, which now gets forwarded to whatever doctors and I await an answer. Later this afternoon I went to the bone doc who cut open the splint and determined that swelling had gone down enough to operate, so tomorrow morning I go under the knife to have plates and screws installed. Because of my overall good health (non tobacco use obviously played into as he queried about it) I should be on my feet in six to twelve weeks, with him siding towards six. I'll be able to use a knee scooter, so I may be able to get away with doing some things I wouldn't be able to with crutches.

You'll be surprised at how well they can repair your leg. I had much the same thing, broke the leg, trashed the ankle, severed the nerve to the middle three toes. The first day after surgery was tough. After that ibuprofen was all I needed. That was 20 years ago and I've had no problems.

Oak Smoke This is not my first rodeo, I broke, dislocated and tore the ligaments out of my left ankle forty years ago, as well as broke the leg and wrist. Full leg cast and arm cast. At least now I'll only have to deal with a half leg cast. I was told at the time I would be able to predict oncoming rain, that hasn't happened yet.

Craigar Made it home, brother. I thought the recovery time was a bit short, it was like they couldn't get me out of there fast enough. But then if I were them I would want me gone too! Getting in the house was not fun, but once I hit the sofa I went back to sleep for a few hours. Awake and semi-alert now, have a serious case of FireMan 'I don't give a rip' going....
