Light flurries started about an hour ago and it’s already starting to stick to the road. Forecast is for 1-3”...I’m sure school for tomorrow will be cancelled any minute now! Most likely all the grocery stores are already sold out of bread and milk!Comment

I guess it doesn't take much for the Wetside! Because I have a tractor I was roped into ploughing for the Orient School District in Stevens County. My contract called for me to plough if there was 2" on the ground and I was to have it done before the school busses ran. They rarely cancelled, sometimes ran two hours late to give the county a chance to get roads cleared.

I passed through Republic, WA today. Here's a couple of pics:
The 'Fire Hall' is Republic Brewing Co. The blob of snow you see in front is from Republic's 'Winterfest' held the third weekend in January. They put boxes made from plywood on the sidewalks and fill them with snow from the road a few weeks prior to the festival, then artists make carvings out of them. Snow was so sleight it looks like most were untouched. Anyway, to put this in perspective to those not familiar with Washington, ecowper 's house is how Republic should look on any given winter day. For Western Washington that is some crazy snow. I am over in Spokane and it has been snowing and in the mid teens all day. Getting ready to head out for another round of shoveling. Definitely buying a snow blower before next winter. I had one before I moved to Florida for 5 years and was hoping I could make it through this winter without one.Comment
