Probably 50 years ago I ran across what I have remembered as BBQ-ed beef that could not be beat. On the side of the highway down around Roseburg Texas was a rancher that pulled a pit out to the road in front of his home. He started 1/2 a beef on Friday evenings (as I remember him telling) and he started selling it Saturday morning. When it was gone, that was it until the next weekend.
I wonder if anyone knows who that was? Did his children follow in his footsteps? Are any of his family PIT members? Does anyone do that now, anywhere?
