Was going out to get my Cc ready for some salmon later. Took off the cover and opened it up and noticed something strange under my grill. Some paper and leaves Just then Mickey showed up Its getting colder in Cleveland with snow for the weekend. Guess he was getting a head start. Anyone else have rodent tales. Not tails. 😉 I assume he came in the grease drain hole since that’s where took off out of. I’ll have to plug that. Some steal wool should work. Don’t ya think.

Had em in my motor home a few weeks back. Went to go dump the tanks for the last time this year before storage. Opened up the bay that had the dump valves and hose in it and found a big pile of insulation that I know comes from my garage all piled up in there. Threw a bunch of dryer sheets everywhere and trapped a few before it went in storage permanetly. I hope we got em all cause once they start chewing on wire harnesses you can have a nightmare.

I've had rats climb up into the grease catch pan on my old Weber Genesis gas grill in the past, and from there into the bottom of the grill. I put out rat poison for a long time, and have not had that happen in some time now. When that happened I lit it a couple of times - intentionally - to drive them out. Then gave the grill a tear down, with lots of scrubbing scrapping and high temp burn off.

Current line-up of cookers: Weber 26" kettle w/ SnS and BBQ Guru adapter; Weber Smokey Mountain 22" w/ Guru adapter.
Yeah, so I had this happen the other day on my Ducane gasser. I went to remove the cover and noticed a clean half dollar sized hole on on end. I hadn't used this grill in a few weeks, and Mickey decided to poop all over the shelves during that time. I have a few poison packs from my exterminator that will be there for a snack when lil buddy returns. Not only does it kill the little a-holes, but it turns them into mouse jerkey upon expiration.
Apparently, they hate the smell of peppermint. I'm thinking some mint oil strategically placed around the perimeter might help.

I had one jump out of my gasser and then run up the external outlet for the clothes dryer vent, even though it had a flap on the opening. I ran into the house and turned on the dryer but didn't see what happened to Micky or Minnie. Fortunately, my wife wasn't home, and I didn't mention it. Likewise, I didn't tell her about the baby rattlesnake that fell out of the channel for the garage door when I opened it. The door jumped the track and crushed the snake in the process. The little woman is a lifelong Texan and has killed snakes around the house before, but I didn't see any need to get her cranked up.
