    Free stuff? Seems that way!

    Ordered the second half of the Primo extended cooking rack. The cooker came with one rack as part of the deal. Found a seller on Amazon selling it for $21, with free shipping. I am going to be doing higher capacity cooks so I “needed” the other extended rack.

    But sonething weird happened. When I opened the box I found this object. I checked the order again and I only paid $21.99 and it shows only the cooking rack was sent. But yet I have this too.

    So I didn’t hit mega millions, but at least I got a pellet tube! Got that going for me.

        I was going to get a cold smoke thing. I have an old aquarium air pump someplace (or I can easily obtain one), so all I need is a metal tube of some sort (preferably with a threaded cap), copper or stainless steel tube, some high temperature epoxy, and a wad of aluminum foil. Then construct an external smoke generator and run the smoke to the Primo bottom vent using the thermostatic controller fan adaptor and a wad of foil to mostly seal it (will not have to be perfect, just enough).

        But now I don’t have to. I can remove the coals (going to “need” the kick ash basket now - makes coal removal easier) and put the smoke tube by the bottom vent.

        The question is will the tube generate too much heat? The Primo is thermally awesome. It’s like a roach motel for heat. BTUs check in, but don’t check out.

          Try it with something less meltable than cheese. Should give you an idea as to what kind of temps you'll get.

          I use lots of ice in my Weber on a cold day. Maybe load the primo with ice and put your tube in foil a covered aluminum pan outside of the kamado and pump the smoke through the bottom vent?

          Good idea. The primo can get to 100 degrees even when "cold". Because south Florida. And the thing is painted black. I can keep the heat plates out and have room for a fairly large ice thing.
