    One less stinky piggee in my neck of da woods

    Thought he was a stout little dude. I've always said,"150 and under good to go." Well, this dude was maybe 175, but boy he didn't disappoint on the stinch! Shot was almost straight down. The arrow came out right between his legs. He ran 50 yards upwind, I smelled him as soon as I got to the arrow.

    First animal with a crossbow. The crossbow is 3 ft+ long at the foot stirrup for size comparison. I'm putting out enough to kill a moose so I knew this dude was toast at 11 yards. His 4:38 pm stroll ended sooner than expected.

      No deer sighting yet. I should see a few in the morning. I really just need a couple does since I can't shoot them once rifle starts. I almost hit a 6-7 point on the way home. Missed his rump by less than a foot.

      Are crossbow legal these days? And can you use it for deer? It’s been a long time since I’ve been hunting anything but birds.

      Check your state laws.
      It has been legal to hunt deer with a crossbow for a while here but we have waayyy more deer than mother nature needs right now. They have started to become a real problem. Hell this year the state even made it legal to hunt over bait.
