    Man area?

Where do you guys hang out? Besides behind the grill. I’m pretty partial to my garage, minus the mess Click image for larger version

About 35 years ago we bought just under two acres of fully wooded land. My dad and I built a 24'x36' shop. My wife, one year old son and I moved in. We then started building a "real" house with the intention of the shop actually becoming a shop. Well, stuff happens and after moving into the big house, my BIL moved into the shop - twice. He just moved out and it will now become a shop - I have a full set of woodworking tools that my dad and I bought together, and they will go into the shop as soon as my BIL gets the rest of his stuff out. That will be my man area...

We recently moved from a property that had a 36' X 60' shop on it. Boy do I miss that space. We now have a contractor lined up to build a new shop at our new home. It will be smaller but at least a place I can go and have some quiet time and see what I can mess up.

A few years ago when we were looking for a house with more space for a growing family, I had my eye on a place that had a barn-like shop that would make an awesome man cave. That one didn't appeal to SWMBO. Maybe one day...

I hang out here more than I do the house. It has a nice aroma of sawdust with a hint of cigar smoke. There's also an attached room that my wife uses for her pottery studio.

I too lost my shop when we moved. It looks like spring before I can start on a new one. In the mean time I go to the storage unit once a month to oil my lathe and mill and dream of days to come.

If you have a Weber Kettle, you need the Slow 'N' Sear

            slow n sear
The Slow 'N' Sear turns your grill into a first class smoker and also creates an extremely hot sear zone you can use to create steakhouse steaks.

The Good-One Is A Superb Grill And A Superb Smoker All In One

            the good one grill
The Good-One Open Range is dramatically different from a traditional offset smoker. By placing the heat source behind and under the smokebox instead of off to the side, Open Range produces even temperature from left to right, something almost impossible to achieve with a standard barrel shaped offset.

Griddle And Deep Fryer In One

            Pit Barrel Cooker Smoker
The flat top does the burgers and the fryer does the fries. Use the griddle for bacon, eggs, and home fries. Or pancakes, fajitas, grilled cheese, you name it. Why stink up the house deep frying and spatter all over? Do your fried chicken and calamari outside. Blackstone's Rangetop Combo With Deep Fryer does it all!

The Pit Barrel Cooker May Be Too Easy

            Pit Barrel Cooker Smoker
The PBC has a rabid cult following for good reason. It is absolutely positively without a doubt the best bargain on a smoker in the world. Period. This baby will cook circles around the cheap offset sideways barrel smokers because temperature control is so much easier.

Grilla Pellet Smoker proves good things come in small packages
