That looks good, but I'm not allowed anything crunchy at the moment. So, no bacon.

How about sous vide bacon and skip the crisping phase? https://www.seriouseats.com/recipes/...on-recipe.html

Probably not nearly as good as including the crisping part though.

You could look at the bacon while you drink the meat milkshake, jgg85234 . I wonder what that tastes like, anyhow.

Hope you've rounded the corner on all of your medical and dental issues, and are problem- and pain- free soon!

I'm sure your smokers and grills miss you.

      • We have two weber kettle grills (one LARGE and one small/average), the SnS and the Weber Smokey Mountain 18" smoker. We use both natural lump charcoal and KNB for smoking and measure our temps with a Maverick 733, thermopen and MK4. Favorite beer depends on what is cooking (alt answer is yes).

I figure that I'll be ready for a great Thanksgiving Turkey. But, I'm going to be hungry for a few months.

Hummus, Instant Breakfast, Soup, tuna salad, mac and cheese with ground beef are what I get to look forward to in the next few months. First, I have to get past the liquid diet.

When we were on our Honeymoon in 1978, one of the places we went was Universal Studios in Hollywood. At the time, a popular show was the 6 million dollar man. I guess because I was the tallest person in the group, the staff picked me out of the group to be bionic. I got to pick up a truck, jump over a building. Littledid I know that I would be on the road to being the 6 million dollar man.

BTW, this is not genetics. First hit was a pneumonia virus that got to my heart. Everything else has been a cascade from that initial event. Parents both had dentures by age 30. So they had a dentist that was good at dentures, not so good at childrens’ teeth. My sister had the same issues. First 2 teeth were pulled at 21 years old. Moved to Phoenix and found a great (read expensive) dentist. He was Nancy Reagan’s family dentist. The next tooth I lost was a few months ago (66 years old). This was 24G, but I think worth it as I will still be able to eat and taste anything I choose.

          Best regards,
          Jim

Jim, sounds like you have through the wringer, and hope it's about done.
My situation is not the same as yours, although a few years ago my teeth, wisdom teeth in particular, were causing me real pain. As opposed to my wife and kids I never had a problem with room for the my wisdom teeth. They all had to have theirs removed. Gave everyone else grief that I was the wisest one in the family. Then about three/four years ago I had problems with food getting caught between the upper wisdom teeth and the molars in front of them. Worst culprit was meat. I would work for hours to get meat particles back out, in agony the whole time. Finally, before a trip to Texas I told my dentist we had to do something, I wasn't going to Texas and not enjoy some BBQ. So he pulled both of them. Along with trapped food particles all the way down the root of the molars in front of them. When things healed up, what a relief. Things were fine until earlier this year one of the bottom wisdom teeth started playing the same trick. This time he ground it off and I've got a crown there. But I'm still eating meat.

wow, sounds like it's been a long journey. Good to hear you've come through it. Can't add anything about teeth though, still have em all. Told my wife, alcohol is a preservative for teeth, maybe it's true.

The Good-One Is A Superb Grill And A Superb Smoker All In One

            the good one grill
The Good-One Open Range is dramatically different from a traditional offset smoker. By placing the heat source behind and under the smokebox instead of off to the side, Open Range produces even temperature from left to right, something almost impossible to achieve with a standard barrel shaped offset.

Griddle And Deep Fryer In One

            Pit Barrel Cooker Smoker
The flat top does the burgers and the fryer does the fries. Use the griddle for bacon, eggs, and home fries. Or pancakes, fajitas, grilled cheese, you name it. Why stink up the house deep frying and spatter all over? Do your fried chicken and calamari outside. Blackstone's Rangetop Combo With Deep Fryer does it all!
