lonnie mac Were you in Huntsville for a while?
-
A LONG time ago. For NASA and Boeing, I hit all the sites from coast to coast. But it's' been years since I been there.
-
I remember when the Boeing plant was orange groves. Then, if memory serves, they were replaced with a Hughes plant that turned into a MacDac plant which finally turned into a Boeing plant. There used to be escaped pheasants in those orange groves.

My biggest hobbies outside of BBQ are SCUBA (I'm an instructor if anyone else wants to get certified, just cover the cost of my trip somewhere tropical and I won't charge you a dime for my services!) and trying to keep playing sports as long as I can, mostly basketball, soccer, and flag football.

My favorite hobby is SCUBA diving. If I could do one thing for the rest of my life, it would be diving. There is nothing else I would rather do. (Good thing I live in Minnesota.) One day, I hope to own a small place in the Caribbean. I try to take one diving trip per year, either solo or with one of my brothers.
I also love to fish. Walleye, Esox and Smallies are my favorites around home. Up north, I love to hit the laker trout and deep water walleyes. I take one big fishing trip per year, either to Canada or Alaska.
BBQ, of course.

Back in the late 60's I was a meat cutter. I worked for some chains and independents as well. Also worked in a slaughter house for my dad. I came from a family of butchers, my dad, uncle and my grandpa & grandma, who were butchers during WWII. Went into the hardware and lumber business with my in-laws in the early 70's. We became Ace dealers and built it up into 6 stores and 1 garden center. Retired from the day to day business back in 2000 and now our nieces and nephew run them. I handle the property management for the commercial property we own as a family.
Hobbies are landscaping and golf and watching 6 grand kids grow up.Last edited by wrgilb; January 7, 2019, 04:49 PM.

Me, I build software machine tools (for building software, much of which is safety and security critical). Lots of ways to carry on heritage (my Dad was one of the first machine tool programmers). Though I've been as much of a salesman, marketing and manager guy as a software developer. Happens with enough years at it.
My hobby is learning enough to satisfy myself and execute on whatever serial obsession happens to have come to my attention. Those have included meditation, woodworking, astrology, BBQ, cooking in general, saxophone, cryptocurrency, cheap but effective audio, music, various trends in software development. Well, I guess I'm a bit of a dilettante, except that those things being serial obsessions, I go deep. And they recur.
Did I say hanging out and discussing life and partying with people?

Software Quality Engineer, 24 years at the same company. Hobbies... played guitar for many years, but haven’t picked up my Taylor much in a decade, ugh. Fishing any chance I get. Grew up chasing smallies on the rivers in VA, spent a decade in San Diego fishing the bays and surf, and now hit the NC surf whenever I can. And my daughter... anything I do with her is the best.

Good guess HouseHomey, plenty of military both places. But nope, worked for Intuit all this time. They paid to move me from VA to SD in ‘97 and let me start working remotely when we moved to NC in ‘06.
