      I did UST remediation and monitoring for a few years. Lead to work in abandoned Titan missile silos. Spooky but cool.

      I have been in the security field pretty much my whole life .... retired Army, and then a series of security management and executive jobs ..... last gig was my own consulting firm, did that for several years. Then got lured back to the corporate world and am running security for a global aerospace & defense manufacturing company.

      For fun? I fly drones, raise chickens, backyard, BBQ, cigars and whiskey :-)

      The backyard is in pretty good shape, considering how hard the winter was

      I do marketing strategy for big pharma. Grew up in Scotland and moved to NJ when i was 17. My background is in biochemistry and immunology and i worked in the lab for 8 or 9 years before being lured to the "dark side" of marketing. You would be amazed (or maybe not) how many people who do marketing for pharma have zero background or knowledge in science. The company that hired me was carving out a small niche group of scientific strategists so it worked out nicely.

      In the little spare time i have i try and spend time with my wife and son and cook as much as possible. I used to build electric guitars when i had a lot more spare time but that just aint happening anymore.

I fully embrace the Minion Method and use Kingsford classic briquettes & Cowboy hardwood charcoal exclusively. Dry woodchips, of course. Beer - Devils Backbone Vienna Lager; bourbon - ALL but Bonded is preferred.

          Wife is the gourmet; I'm the glutton/bartender. We are retired. I spent many years as a banking lawyer specializing in putting tax attorneys asleep by describing my daily tasks. Hobbies are painting (watercolor/acrylics as oils take too long to dry - beyond my attention span) and fishing (with and without hooks - the Zen, not the result, is the point) (Well, the flask of Wild Turkey 101 factors in there). BBQ is a life-long pursuit going on 60 years of hands-on fire-tending. My Dad grew up on a farm and taught me about meat and grilling at a young age and turned over the dirty parts to me - fire building, smoking, tending, etc. - all to hear him say, "Damn fine. Take it off." I still miss him.

            I have already mentioned, and provided a picture in my intro post, that I am a minister. Serve a church in a small (pop. 1300) Iowa community.

            My hobby is a small pond. 12 years ago my wife gave me a Wal-Mart kit for Father's Day. I've redone/enlarged it twice, once because someone stuck something sharp through the liner, and the second time the bottom of the liner just disintegrated. Each time I've upgraded my pumps/filters/etc. It's as big as it's going to get while we live here, in the space my wife gives me.

              Dan, I feel your pain! Interesting thing is, the number of fish in my pond keep increasing. I thought at first the Koi had babies, but when I took the fish out to replace the liner, I realized the little ones weren't Koi. Had a carnival in town last weekend, and one of the booths was giving out goldfish as prizes. I have a suspicion the population of fish in my pond will grow again.
