Woke up this morning to this! It's April 5th. It is beautiful yes, and this 'look-at-the-positive' perspective is the only thing keeping me from giving this weather the single finger salute right now.

The above view is through a screen so it's cloudy, but it's snowing large cotton ball snowflakes and it has that textbook December perfect snowfall look. December, not April.

      • We have two weber kettle grills (one LARGE and one small/average), the SnS and the Weber Smokey Mountain 18" smoker. We use both natural lump charcoal and KNB for smoking and measure our temps with a Maverick 733, thermopen and MK4. Favorite beer depends on what is cooking (alt answer is yes).

      WOA

When I first saw that, I thought it was a pic from the winter. But it is pretty. And shouldn't last too long.

                WAY TO GO, CDD!

Back to some strangeness, cooler in Northern, VA than Canada. And we are only a couple hundred feet of elevation!

It was snowing here, heavily, Tues morning. It stuck. And snowing again Weds. Family and I traveled up to Boyne Mtn in Boyne Falls, MI for a getaway and it dropped to 27F at 5-6pm on the ride. The interesting thing about that was last Friday, 4 days before Tuesday's snow, it was 76 and sunny. It was actually borderline hot.

But, that was then. Now it's 52 and sunny. Wings are on the kettle with grape wood. The wine is poured, all is well.

We haven't had any rain since the end of April. There's an open fire ban across the northern half of the province. Camping sucks without a fire!

On one hand, this looks like a doozy of a winter. On the other hand, it also looks like any typical winter prediction. Who knows what we'll see.

It will be interesting come March 2017 to revisit this and see how accurate it was.
