It's 39F right now but the temps are about to spiral downward and bring 8" of snow with it. I need to get some meat. Time to cook!

      • We have two weber kettle grills (one LARGE and one small/average), the SnS and the Weber Smokey Mountain 18" smoker. We use both natural lump charcoal and KNB for smoking and measure our temps with a Maverick 733, thermopen and MK4. Favorite beer depends on what is cooking (alt answer is yes).

We in the DC area are watching that storm, PB. Looks like you are about to get it. Hope you can stay off the roads and have some enjoyment (I LOVE snow cooks!). Good luck

Thanks Rich. We plan on keeping safe, except for tonight we may have to drive in the beginnings of the snowfall. Related story... My wife and I are celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary today, and she's twice proven why I married her.

        1) For our anniversary dinner tonight we're going to the "Crossroads 'Cue Supper" at Midwood Smokehouse where we'll meet Rob Walsh and enjoy a BBQ/Tex Mex fusion meal with beverage pairings.
        2) She made sure I had enough meat in the fridge to light the grills up for at least 4 cooks over the next couple of days while we're snowed in.

        Yep, my kinda girl.

Thanks DWC! I have a few pairs of boots left over from my USAF days that do well in the snow, but you've reminded me we need another shovel.

Thanks Rich! I'm getting over a cold so I couldn't enjoy the food quite as much as I would have liked, but my wife assured me it smelled awesome. I certainly thought it tasted awesome, but there's always a little something missing when the smellovision isn't 100%.

That's a bummer. I hate eating good food when I have a cold or the remnants thereof, almost seems a waste.

Did you get your 8" snow??

Meh, it was more like 3 or 4"... Kids are still having a blast though so it's all good.

I still enjoyed the food, it was just missing that extra pop you get from smelling what you're eating. Admittedly smell is very important, but I got by.

Now I have an Anova sous vide, the Dragon blower and 2 Chef alarms from Thermoworks.

Well we were supposed to be home Friday and my son told me that they calling for 4-8 inches of that nasty four letter word (snow) tonight so I told my dispatcher to send us back west and we will go home Sunday. Please Spring hurry up and get here.
